If you are going to exhibit at a trade show, then what you do during the trade show matters. But what you have in your booth matters as well. For example, a majority of trade show participants make it a point to design their booth properly and in a highly appealing manner, so it gets noticed, and they also pay attention to other aspects such as video presentations, promotional materials, and so on. But any veteran of trade shows will tell you that there are other small things you can do to make your display and booth stand out. It’s the little things that matter, after all. Here’s a list of tried, tested, and proven ways to stand out at a trade show.
Don’t forget those giveaways
A trade show giveaway can make an impact on the success of your booth, and in more ways than one. Why? Because your clients can use your giveaway even after the end of the trade show, and every time they use it, they will be reminded of your company and brand. Choose your giveaways wisely and make sure people can use it in different situations; pens are always a good choice as are notepads, calendars, canvas bags, and even USBs. Don’t forget the informative giveaways such as brochures and folders, either. Make sure, though, that your brochures are done by a professional and placed in a custom-made A5 folder or an appropriately-sized folder complete with your name and logo. It’s also essential to have display racks where you can showcase your flyers, leaflets, and special offers so that visitors can easily notice them and get what they want.
Food is always good
You may think it’s a bit unprofessional or not in line with your business’ image to give away food at a trade show or event, but it makes people remember you. It also shows that you’re approachable and friendly. Biscuits are always a big hit, as are candies and other small goodies which people can take away or eat with their hands. If you can, try to package the food giveaways in such a way that you can display your company’s details on it, including your contact information.
Share some certificates
Another way to help your booth and company stand out is to give some gift certificates for various services or products. People honestly love getting something for free, and we all appreciate a good deal, so encourage your visitors by letting them cash something in, be it for a small item or a particular service. This also gives them a chance to try out what you have, and who knows, they may come back for more.
Organise a draw
You can also organise a draw where one or two lucky visitors can receive a prize. For instance, you can have visitors sign your guestbook or fill in a questionnaire, and this can give them a chance to win. You can also have a fishbowl in your booth where participants can drop their business cards. The great aspect about draws like these is that you can use whatever information you get from participants to follow up on them and make contact later on. Good luck!
